Pig Handling Equipment

When pigs are introduced into a pipeline, for smaller line sizes and associated conventional pigs manual handling will be relatively easy. However, as sizes increase, additional equipment will be required to insert pigs into a launcher or extract them from a receiver. Although the most demanding will be handling of large and expensive intelligent pigs, service companies providing them will often provide their own handling equipment. However, operators will often want dedicated fixed handling equipment to be supplied with the launcher or receiver. There is also other equipment which can be provided to facilitate handling. Even the design of special equipment is possible.
