While it offers most of the functionality of the bayonet closure, the clampring closure was designed to be used for smaller diameters and lower pressure ranges. It comes in a lever operated version for the smallest sizes and handwheel operated for the larger sizes. Fitted with similar safety devices as the bayonet, it offers the same multi-level protection against inadvertent opening. Like the bayonet, it can also be supplied in a range of materials to suit any application.
