The implementation of non-interruptible industrial processes and the fact that pipeline operators have legally binding supply agreements severely restrict the possibilities for pipeline maintenance. Also, adding branch connections, and the re-routing of pipelines can normally only be done safely after complete evacuation of the pipeline, or during a planned shutdown.
By employing PEB Hottap and/or Stoppel services, pipeline operators are able to make connections while the line is operational and fully pressurized. This will be done with specially developed hottap or linestop machines. These machines are suitable for operating pressures (up to 70 Bar) and -temperatures (up to 300 °C): and will work with Gas, Liquid, various Chemicals, Steam, Cooling water etc.
The equipment and dedicated procedures PEB Services BV use for these operations is widely recognised as setting the global standard for both quality and safety, two of the most important factors when working on operational pressurized pipelines.
